Thanks to ALL HUNTERS who contacted legislators on the hunter trespass issue!
An improved version of the Landowner Protection Act HB#762 passed the House Agriculture Committee on Tuesday, 5/17/11. Your calls and emails alerted legislators to the serious problems contained in prior versions of the hunter trespass bills. Your help stopped the momentum of Farm Bureau and changed the perspective of the Wildlife Resources Commission.
Because of your work, legislators like Senator Doug Berger recognized the bad provisions included in the older versions of SB#374 and HB#762. Last Thursday, Senator Berger stopped SB#374 by moving to send it to a Senate Committee.
Joe McClees negotiated with the Wildlife Resources Commission over the weekend to change the worst features of the hunter trespass bills.
The amended version may be found by clicking the following link and going to the Second Edition as soon as it is posted (it should be posted on this evening):

House Bill #762 as amended addresses the issue of TRESPASS ON POSTED LAND:
HB#762 now goes to the House floor for a vote by the entire House. If it passes the House, it will go to the Senate. Check the above link to keep up with the progress of HB#762. This bill is still in transit!

We need your support as we continue to work to protect dog hunting. Please feel free to contact Joe or Henri McClees for more information.
